Why I Became a Pet Sitter

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Animals have always been a passion of mine.

Since I was young I’ve always loved animals and we've had a lot at home over the years: cats, gerbils, cockatiels, parrots, budgies, tropical fish, cold water fish, salamanders, stick insects, African snails ... anything I was allowed!

I have two cats: a black longhaired cat called 'Silverstone' - named after the race circuit! I found her as a kitten trapped in the corridor of a hotel I was staying in during the depths of Winter, we took her into our room for shelter overnight and took her to the nearest vet surgery in the morning to check for a microchip. She did not have one and appeared to have been outside for a while as she was very underweight and her coat was matted. Having spent the evening and night getting cuddles from this tiny kitten we had all fallen slightly in love. I left my contact details with the surgery and returned home - I didn't need much encouragement from my friends to start ringing them every day to see if her owner had been found, I even sent her a kitten blanket through Amazon Prime so she would be comfier there. After a week the vet rang and were satisfied they could not find her owner, so I was given the option of coming to collect her - I left immediately and after a 6 hour round journey we made it home. The rest is history and Silverstone is one very spoiled cat.

My other cat, Luna, is a cheeky little character. Left behind by her previous owners one of my customers phoned me after discovering her asking for my advise. Luna was heavily pregnant and her previous owners weren't contactable. I immediately contacted Whiskers Refuge who worked with Worthing Cat Welfare who luckily were able to offer her a placement in their shelter. Luna gave birth to her kittens a few weeks later and was an amazing mother to them - I made it clear from the beginning I wanted to offer her a home when her kittens were old enough to find their own homes - the rest is history! Luna is an active, playful cat, very loving and adores playing with Silverstone.

I began Coral's Pet Sitting in 2017 after a few years of looking after friends and families pets and now have the opportunity to share my love of animals with my customers and pet owners all over the Worthing to Goring area.

I am fully insured to look after your pets, including daily drops-ins and dog walks. I only walk dogs on a 1-1 basis or as a pair if I know both dogs well.  If we are going out in my vehicle they are safe in a large dog crates custom made for my vehicle.

I am DBS (CRB) checked - renewed in January 2019.

I am First Aid Trained for dogs through first aid for dogs training.

I have several happy customers willing to vouch for me. (See my testimony page for more details).

I am a very keen runner and run at least 3 times a week, I aspire to one day join the 100 marathon club. I love having the opportunity to take dogs on walks in the beautiful surroundings we have in West Sussex along the coast or the South Downs, occasionally I get the opportunity to look after a dog who enjoys a good run too!

I hope I get the chance to meet your lovely pet soon, feel free to message me with any questions or check out my FAQ's.
